Need to listen to printed text spoken aloud - at school, in a test exam, at work, or at home? Claro ScanPen allows you to capture your printed text document, letter, or test paper and then select the text with your finger or stylus to hear it spoken back to you instantly. No internet connection is required.

Claro ScanPen Premium offers a free trial for either 10 scans or 14 days when you sign up for the annual auto-renewing subscription. This subscription can be canceled at any time. With an active subscription, users can download premium voices such as Nuance Vocalizer and Acapela at no extra cost. For those interested in purchasing ScanPen outright and acquiring additional voices, the standard version "Claro ScanPen" is available on the App Store.

Claro ScanPen enhances support for reading aloud by providing access to printed text materials and documents in various languages. Simply use your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad to take a photo of the text, highlight the section you wish to hear spoken, and let Claro ScanPen read it back to you using a human-quality voice in your preferred language.

The app allows users to highlight text word by word or line by line with their finger or stylus, stop the speech by tapping anywhere, and integrates seamlessly with the iOS VoiceOver accessibility feature for low vision and blind individuals.

Utilizing premium Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology, Claro ScanPen converts images into text for reading aloud. It supports text recognition in languages including English, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Swedish.

Claro ScanPen is an invaluable tool for students under exam conditions, individuals with dyslexia, and those seeking quick conversions of printed materials into audio. The app functions offline without storing any photos within the application and is compatible with the Guided Access feature on Apple iOS devices.
